"If you obey all I command you, walk in my ways, and do what is right in my sight in order to keep my statutes and my commandments as my servant David did, I will be with you.  I will build you a lasting dynasty just as i built for David." 1 Kings 11:38

Speaker: Matt Higgins

higginspic3Matt's life and ministry are driven by a desire to share the love of Jesus Christ through teaching, preaching and music.  Matt entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ in 1990 during a Young Life youth retreat, surrendering control of his life up to God.  While chaperoning a youth retreat during the summer of 1999, God initially placed His calling on Matt's life to become a full-time minister.  After years spent running away from this calling, he finally surrendered his life to full-time ministry during the summer of 2006.  In May of 2010, Matt received his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he was awarded the President's Scholar Award for the School of Theology.  He is currently serving as the pastor of Calvary Heights Baptist Church in Martinsville.  He is married to Dana and they have one daughter, Gwendolyn.
