Latest update on Jimmy Stewart from the Alaska Bapt Conv. Jimmy was in surgery for over 6 hours today. They treated both arms from shoulder to wrist with new skin. He did very well. They tried testing his breathing earlier in the day by taking him off the respirator, and he began breathing on his own. When told to take a deep breath, he did it. Tomorrow they will test him again and if he responds well, they will remove the breathing tube. He will then be able to respond verbally. This weekend is time to recover from three surgeries and prepare for the next round of treatments. He is still not out of the woods, but the major concern at this point is infection. Continue to pray two things: that his heart and lungs will remain strong and that infection stays away. Thanks for your prayers.

Just received this update from Kathryn Stewart, the wife of Jimmy Stewart from Alaska. Continue to pray for Jimmy as he heals. From Kathryn Stewart - We met with the surgeon. Everything went well. Jimmy is past the first major hurdle but has a long, long way to go. He could be here a few months with many procedures ahead. Pray for his skin to grow and future grafts to take. Pray for his heart to stay strong. The surgeon compared the stress of all this to constantly driving a car at 100 mph for 6 weeks. Pray for infection to stay away. That is the next great risk. The next few weeks are critical. The fact that Jimmy is so active and healthy is helpful.

URGENT Prayer need. One of our ministry partners Jimmy Stewart, who serves the Alaska Bapt Conv was trying to fix a gas leak and there was an explosion. He is burned over 80% of his body. Please pray often for Jimmy and his wife Kathryn. He was life-lined to a Seattle hospital. Thank You for praying.
